Recreation Ambassador Program – Weekend Report 8/8 - 8/9
Weekend Summary:
We had Faith Lutheran covering the three River locations (Barn Beach, East Leavenworth Boat Launch, and the Bridge River Access/Icicle Bridge Put-in). Due to concerns with the smoke our trail group did not feel comfortable being out outside this weekend. While having one group we had an increase in interactions from previous weekends (1,727).
Volunteers and those surveyed reported that the river and shores were very clean, no litter reported throughout the route. While minimal to no litter on the floating route, ambassadors did share that they collected a lot of garbage at the put-in and take-outs. Ambassadors reported that they had to inform many people that they should not wear leashes while paddleboarding. Overall ambassadors said that the guests were very polite and made the weekend even more enjoyable.

· Trash Removed: 5 – 5-gallon bag of garbage, 15 - 5-gallon bags of recycling.
Survey Highlights (30 respondents):
Visitor Origin:
· Of River users surveyed were local, 99.67% were not local and 3.33% were local.
· Visitors from all over Washington, Idaho, Arizona, Minnesota and Turkey.
Recreation Type:
· Of river users surveyed 93.3% where tubing and 6.7% paddleboarders.
Conditions Reported:
· Those surveyed said the shores were in good condition, no overcrowding and no litter reported.
Post-Recreation Plans:
· After floating 53.3% of the users surveyed planned to go to a restaurant, 30% planned to go to their logging and 16.7% others.
Transportation & Parking
· 76.67% of surveyed had not heard of the free shuttle, and 23.33 % have heard about the shuttle. People heard about the shuttle mainly from social media, websites or word of mouth.
· Of those surveyed 73.33% walked, 16.67 drove their own vehicles, 6.67% other and 3.33% shuttled.
